'Sex And The City 2' hits UK BO top spot

Sex And The City 2 has topped the UK box office on its debut weekend on release.

Despite scathing critical reviews, the comedy sequel emerges as the number one movie over the Bank Holiday weekend with over £6 million in ticket sales.

SATC 2 posts the third-highest UK opening of 2010, behind Alice In Wonderland's £10.5 million haul and Iron Man 2's £6.8 million.

StreetDance, Prince Of Persia and Robin Hood all slip a place from last week's positions, while Dwayne Johnson's family comedy Tooth Fairy enters at number five.

Elsewhere, new releases Space Chimps 2 and The Losers find spots in the top ten, bowing at numbers seven and eight respectively.
