The Terminator Salvation director will produce the film based on the book by 20-year-old author Kody Keplinger, reports Variety.
The book centres on 17-year-old Bianca Piper, a girl who starts to fall in love with a popular boy who she thought she hated.
McG has set up the project at his Wonderland Sound And Vision company.
Little Brown/Poppy will publish Keplinger's novel this fall.
