Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way company will produce an adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's futuristic dystopian novel Cat 's Cradle.
The screenplay will be written by James V. Hart (Sahara) and son Jake Hart (Glengarry), reports Variety.
Vonnegut's 1963 novel tells the story of a scientist who develops 'Ice-Nine' for the military, which can be used to freeze mud water in order to free trapped soldiers. However, the weapon brings with it the risk of freezing the whole world's water supply.
It has not been announced whether DiCaprio will star in the movie himself.
