Phillippe joins Eastwood movie

Ryan Phillippe, Jesse Bradford and Adam Beach will star in Flags of Our Fathers, directed by Clint Eastwood and produced by Eastwood and Steven Spielberg.

Based on the James Bradley and Rom Powers novel Flags of Our Fathers: Heroes of Iwo Jima, it tells the story of Bradley, who learns about his father's past beyond his being one of the six soldiers to raise the American flag at the battle of Iwo Jima.

Variety reports that Eastwood is reteaming with writer Paul Haggis (Million Dollar Baby) for the project.
