According to Movieweb, director Peter Berg's upcoming action film, based on the naval strategy game, will arrive in US cinemas on May 25, 2012 instead of the previously announced May 18.
It has been suggested that the studio changed the release date so that the picture would not be in direct opening weekend competition with Men In Black III, which is scheduled to open May 18, 2012.
Taylor Kitsch stars in Battleship, produced by Scott Stuber and Hasbro pair Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir.
Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin and Jemaine Clement will star in Men in Black III.
