Shepard 'almost never cast in When In Rome'

Kristen Bell has revealed that Dax Shepard was almost never cast in When In Rome.

The former Veronica Mars star, who confirmed her engagement to Shepard in February, has admitted that the comedy's producers were apprehensive about hiring her fiancé because of their off-screen romantic relationship.

According to Contactmusic, Bell said: "When they started casting they knew Dax and I were dating and almost didn't hire him for that reason. I said, 'I get it, you don't want drama, but we're not very dramatic. If you want the best person, hire him!'"

She added: "They did and it was wonderful."

It was recently reported that the executive producer of Veronica Mars has said that he does not expect a film version of the show to be made.
