Mike Newell has signed to direct a western for the Ruddy Morgan Organisation, according to Variety.

Set in post-revolution Mexico, the as-yet-untitled movie will follow a Native American former Marine bounter hunter on a mission to recover the horse of a wealthy American.

The screenplay was written by Apocalypse Now scribe John Milius.

Newell directed the upcoming Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
