Published Wednesday, Jul 20 2005, 16:00 BST | By Daniel Saney
The Smurfs are to be given their own movie series by Paramount Pictures.
Variety reports that Jordan Kerner will produce with Nickelodeon Movies, whilst Herb Ratner (Mr. Lucky) will write the script.
The film, which will hopefully be released to coincide with the characters' 50th anniversary in 2008, will most likely be the first in a trilogy.
