Writer/producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are currently scripting the project. The movie will be a musical and is described as part-Addams Family, part-Beetlejuice, according to The Hollywood Reporter
Mattel also plans to release books, webisodes and animation, as well as more toys, apparel and accessories based on the Monster High line.
Gough and Millar's sci-fi adventure I Am Number Four opens in US cinemas next February.
