The Avatar star could join Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine in the McG-directed picture, reports Vulture.
The 33-year-old is in talks to star as Pine's character's best friend. The two have a falling out when they fall for the same girl (Witherspoon) and wage a black ops-style war against each other.
Seth Rogen, Martin Lawrence and Bradley Cooper were previously attached to the project.
