Maggie Gyllenhaal and Maria Bello have joined the cast of Oliver Stone's untitled 9/11 project.
The pair will play the wives of Sgt. John McLoughlin (Nicolas Cage) and Officer William J. Jimeno (Michael Pena), two Port Authority officers who helped to rescue people from the World Trade Centre before getting trapped in the rubble themselves.
Variety reports that Stone is to begin directing from Andrea Berloff's script later this year in New York.
