Robert Pattinson has confessed that he has become bored with the mania surrounding the Twilight movies.

Speaking to The New York Times, the British actor admitted that he is looking forward to moving on from playing vampire Edward Cullen in the Stephenie Meyer saga.

"It can get a little boring. The good news is that the whole thing is done in seven months," he commented.

Pattinson said that co-star Kristen Stewart is better at dealing with fan and press scrutiny than him, adding: "I've learned to let it go a bit, but I'm still really bothered by it. The more you are exposed, the more people irrationally hate you. I think we reached a point, a peak, with New Moon where the stories became so saturated into the culture that it started to feel normal.

"It's like the tabloids don't know what to write anymore because they've used up all their scandals."

Pattinson's recent non-Twilight roles have included Salvador Dalí biopic Little Ashes and romantic drama Remember Me. He also has parts lined up in Bel Ami, Water For Elephants and Unbound Captives.
