John Landis has agreed to direct Show Dogs for New Line Cinema, says Variety.

The movie, penned by Mike Bender, will tell the story of a homeless Jack Russell who is propelled from the gutter to the stardom of dog shows.

Landis is also working on Deer Woman ( an episode of TV's Masters of Horror), Bat Boy and Epic Proportions. His past credits include Coming To America and The Blues Brothers.
