Brittany Murphy has signed to appear in a further adaptation of Frank Miller's graphic novels.
Murphy will reprise her Sin City role of barmaid Shelley, the only character to appear in all of the novels in the series.
She said of the role: "I'm absolutely thrilled. It's exciting to be a part of something so big and artistically groundbreaking.
"I love the film and I'm ecstatic to be working with director Robert Rodriguez and the crew again."
