Jim Carrey, Jack Black and Owen Wilson are among the actors being considered to star in children’s book adaptation Mr. Popper's Penguins.

Ben Stiller was originally attached to star with Greenberg helmer Noah Baumbach in line to direct. However, both have since dropped out of the 20th Century Fox project.

According to The Wrap, the studio is also in talks with Mean Girls director Mark Waters to replace Baumbach.

The movie is based on the book of the same name by Richard and Florence Atwater Newberry.

The story follows a man who takes a performing penguin act on the road.
