Ozzy Osbourne has said that he wants a native of his home city of Birmingham to play him in a movie.

Speaking to the city's Sunday Mercury newspaper, the rocker admitted that he would like an actor who knows the area to star in a film about his life.

"I'd like to get a Birmingham guy to play the young lad in it because Americans can't do a good Brummie accent," the 61-year-old explained.

He added: "I don't want a Johnny Depp or someone from the Hobbit films. I want someone who knows Birmingham. I'm from Birmingham, and it would be good to get someone from Birmingham to play me."

Osbourne added that he wants to have an open audition to cast the role, similar to the format of The X Factor.
