German director Robert Schwentke has agreed to direct 20th Century Fox's Runaway Train, says Variety.
The movie will portray the attempts of a railway company to prevent potential disaster as an unmanned train carrying poisonous gases puts a city in jeopardy.
The project is inspired by an event where a train loaded with toxic acid travelled 70 miles with nobody on board, endangering thousands of people.
