Stallone's 'Expendables' cut for UK release
Published Tuesday, Jul 6 2010, 14:05 BST | By Simon Reynolds

According to the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification), two seconds of the action-drama have been cut from the film in order for it to obtain a 15 certificate.
Distributor Lionsgate had been presented with the option of releasing the film as an 18, but instead chose to remove a shot of "a hero sadistically twisting a knife into a guard's neck" to secure the 15 rating.
The movies stars Stallone as the leader of a group of mercenaries on a mission to overthrow a South American dictator. Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis are also among the cast.
The Expendables will open in the UK on August 20.
