Lennon joins returning stars Kal Penn and John Cho in the sequel, along with Patton Oswalt and Neil Patrick Harris, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor will portray the titular heroes' suburban dad neighbour.
The 39-year-old has also appeared in a number of films, including Balls of Fury and I Love You, Man, and is the co-writer of the Night at the Museum films.
