Sam Shepard has agreed to star alongside Brad Pitt in Warner Bros. Pictures' The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
The picture focuses on Robert Ford (Casey Affleck), a man who joined the legendary outlaw's (Pitt) gang but who turns against him and plans his death.
Shepard will portray James' brother, Frank, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The script was written by Ron Hansen, adapted from his own novel. Andrew Dominik is directing, whilst Brad Pitt, Tony Scott and Ridley Scott produce.
