Based on Jordan Belfort's memoir, the Terence Winter-scripted Wall Street details how the broker guided his team into making millions, then used the money to fund an extravagant lifestyle until getting caught by the FBI.
Martin Scorsese and DiCaprio almost made the movie several years ago, but instead chose to make thriller Shutter Island. Scorsese is expected to hand over the directorial reins to DiCaprio's Body Of Lies helmer Scott and stay on board as a producer.
DiCaprio can next be seen leading the cast of Christopher Nolan's sci-fi heist film Inception, opening on July 16.
