'Harry Potter' film 'makes £110m loss'
Published Saturday, Jul 10 2010, 14:16 BST | By Colin Daniels

The film, released in 2007, made $938.2m (£622.5m) at the box office, making it the ninth highest-grossing film of all time. However, distribution fees, advertising costs and interest payments of $57m (£38m) on loans mean that the Warner Brothers project is still in debt, according to Deadline.
A Hollywood insider said: "If this is the fair definition of net profits, why do we continue to pretend and go through this charade? Judging by this, no movie is ever, ever going to go to pay off on net participants. It's an illusion to make writers, and lower-level actors and filmmakers, feel they have a stake in the game."
The first instalment of the latest film, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, is set to be released on November 19, 2010.
