Susan Sackner will direct the new project, examining the role that teachers play in the system and the importance that creative arts be kept alive in the curriculum, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Spurlock commented: "It is my hope that Class Act will draw attention to something that I believe to be one of the most important foundations of a child's growth."
