Mark Ruffalo cast as Hulk?

Rumours have surfaced that Mark Ruffalo is in "late-stage talks" to play the Hulk in The Avengers movie.

Deadline Hollywood reports that the The Kids Are Alright actor is in negotiations with Marvel to take on the role of Bruce Banner and his green alter-ego in the ensemble film.

Edward Norton, who played the role in the solo Hulk movie, was recently confirmed to not be returning to the part.

Marvel announced the recasting of the role, saying it was looking for a "team player".
