Director Carnahan 'not a big 'A-Team' fan'

The filmmaker, who directed the big-screen remake of the hit '80s TV show, said that by not being an avid follower he was qualified to make an unbiased adaptation of the series.
He told The Sunday Telegraph: "I was not a big A-Team fan as a kid, so I think that made me a better candidate for this job than somebody who grew up loving the show because they would have been more inclined to make sure it was a fan-driven adaptation, and I think that would have been a huge mistake."
He added: "With Miami Vice, there was nothing of the show left in the movie and I wanted to keep things that were important to people who love the show, but not completely give in to them. If you're just making a movie for the fans, you really limit yourself."
The A-Team is currently in US cinemas and arrives in the UK on July 30.
