Dragon's tale to be retold

David Auburn has been commissioned to write his own interpretation of St. George And The Dragon for Paramount Pictures, Variety has revealed.
Producer Doug Wick of Red Wagon explained: "St. George and the Dragon is the enduring myth of a knight's struggle to save a feudal princess from a fearsome beast. In Auburn's retelling, the knight will be not so chivalrous, and the princess not so chaste."
Wick and Lucy Fisher will produce the movie, marking their second collaboration with Paramount alongside The Chancellor Manuscript.
Playwright Auburn, who won a Pulitzer Prize for his play Proof, recently wrote Warner Bros.' The Lake House starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, and is currently developing Sony's Blackbird.
