Marvel sets date for 'Runaways'

Marvel Studios has set a date for production on its Runaways movie to begin.

Production Weekly reports that work on the adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan's award-winning series will start in January 2011.

Peter Sollett (Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist) is attached to direct the film, with UK comedy series No Heroics creator Drew Pierce working on the script.

Runaways follows the adventures of a group of adolescents who discover that their parents are supervillains who control the West Coast of the US.
