Pegg in talks for 'Mission: Impossible' return

Simon Pegg is in talks to return to the Mission: Impossible franchise, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The Hot Fuzz star will reprise his role as Benji Dunn, a tech operative for Ethan Hunt's (Tom Cruise) Impossible Missions Force team.

Mission: Impossible 4 is expected to begin production in September under the direction of The Incredibles helmer Brad Bird.

Cruise and J.J. Abrams are returning as producers, while Alias's Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum have written the screenplay.

Pegg's forthcoming roles include black comedy Burke & Hare, alien road trip film Paul with Nick Frost and the Star Trek sequel.
