Pixar to keep 'Toy Story' franchise alive

By
Director Lee Unkrich has admitted that Pixar has plans to keep the Toy Story 3 franchise alive.

Unkrich told DS that he intended his entry in the popular animated series to "bring to a close the story of Andy and his toys".

"We are trying to find ways to keep the characters alive - we do have plans to make a short film which will be out in front of Cars 2 next year," Unkrich said.

Producer Darla K. Anderson added of the short: "We're going to keep going with a lot of the new characters everyone has fallen in love with from Toy Story 3 in addition to the classic characters."

Unkrich also reiterated that a fourth Toy Story is not in development at present.
