Crew recalls Efron sceen-test kiss
Published Tuesday, Jul 20 2010, 18:25 BST | By Lara Martin

Speaking to ET Online, the actress explained that she had been initially hesitant to kiss Efron because she didn't want to seem "presumptuous".
"I knew that he has a girlfriend and I didn't have a job yet. So when it came to [the kiss] we would just kind of nuzzle," she said.
"So then [the director] Burr [Steers] came over to just give me some notes to try some stuff so I said to him, 'You know, is it okay... how does he feel if I actually kiss him? Because I just feel that that's what the scene is missing, that passion and all that. Is he okay with that?'
"Burr tells me, 'You're the only one who hasn't kissed him!' Everyone else who auditioned just went for it. I was like, 'OK!'"
Efron added that he had been impressed by Crew, saying that she "showed up and brought her A game" for the audition.
"We read through it three or four times and that was it. I remember right there I went over to Burr and said, 'Dude that was great', and Burr goes, 'Yeah that was really great'... He was like, 'Don't say anything to her'. I said I wouldn't and then I went back immediately and said, 'You did great!'"
Charlie St. Cloud opens next week.
