Dunst confirms 'Spidey 3' villains

Kirsten Dunst has let slip the identities of the villains to be seen in Spider-Man's third outing.

Whilst promoting her movie Elizabethtown she said: "We have really great people though as the villains in this film, Thomas Haden Church and Topher Grace -- Venom and Sandman."

"Maybe I wasn't supposed to say that," she added, before being reassured by her rep. Although both actors were known to be linked to the movie, Sony and Marvel had not previously announced the characters that they would play.

However, Dunst seemed to be unconvinced as to who was playing whom, first indicating that Church would play Venom and Grace would portay Sandman, reports Zap2it. She then changed her mind when a journalist found the idea unbelievable. "It's the other way around. You're right," she admitted.

Venom is an alien symbiote who takes over Eddie Brock, a former reporter with an axe to grind with Spider-Man over a journalism-related embarrassment.

Meanwhile, Sandman is a career criminal who has the ability to turn his body into a sand-like substance.
