Speaking to MTV, Willis revealed that news about the next outing for John McClane is "imminent".
He said: "It's imminent. The coin is about to drop in the slot machine."
Asked if Die Hard 4.0 helmer Len Wiseman is likely to return to the director's chair, Willis replied: "Don't know. Don't know if we've gotten that far..."
Hitman screenwriter Skip Woods is currently working on the script for Die Hard 5.
