Elizabeth Taylor has denied rumours that Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angelina Jolie are in talks to play her in a biopic of her life.

It was reported earlier this week that the actresses were vying for the role as part of the film adaptation of Sam Kashner and Nancy Schoenberger's Furious Love: Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, and the Marriage of the Century. Russell Crowe, Clive Owen and Colin Farrell were listed as contenders for the role of Richard Burton.

However, Taylor took to her Twitter page to dispute the rumours, claiming that she would never allow such a project to materialise.

"Hold your horses world. I've been hearing all kinds of rumours about someone being cast to play me in a film about Richard and myself," she wrote.

"No-one is going to play Elizabeth Taylor but Elizabeth Taylor herself. Not at least until I'm dead, and at the moment I'm having too much fun being alive and I plan on staying that way. Happiness to all."
