The Jane Austen adaptation fended off competition from new entries A History of Violence, Goal! and Four Brothers this weekend to keep its place.
Meanwhile, Guy Ritchie's critically-panned Revolver slipped from last week's number two to number eight this weekend, just above new entry Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo.
