The French First Lady appeared alongside Owen Wilson on a busy street near the Pantheon for a scene in comedy Midnight in Paris yesterday.
The 42-year-old, who plays the director of a Parisian museum, wore a casual white blouse and jeans, and was reportedly on set for five hours to re-take the same scene.
A source told People: "Carla and Woody got along incredibly well on the set. They talked constantly and laughed quite a lot between takes. Owen as well.
"They must have shot the same set-up, where she walks along holding a baguette in her hand going into a supermarket... around 32 [times]."
The model-turned-singer, who shot a different scene yesterday evening, is expected to attend another half-day of filming opposite Marion Cotillard before joining her husband Nicolas Sarkozy on holiday.
"Carla has a tiny role in the film," a source revealed. "In any case, she won't be stealing the spotlight from the other actors."
Midnight in Paris, which also stars Adrien Brody and Rachel McAdams, is scheduled for release next year.
