'The Fog' envelops US box office

The Fog topped the US box office chart last weekend, narrowly beating last week's chart-topper, Wallace and Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, which slipped to second place.

The horror remake, in which a town is haunted by ghosts of its past, took $12.2m (£6.9m), whilst Nick Park's animated duo earned themselves $11.7m (£6.6m). Opening in third place was romantic comedy Elizabethtown, starring Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst, which took $11m.
