Unsigned musicians The Boxer Rebellion are to feature alongside Drew Barrymore in her new comedy.

The London group star in Going the Distance as a band being watched by one of the characters.

According to NME, guitarist Todd Howe said: "The whole thing came about after our first US show last year at The Troubadour in LA. Some of the guys involved with the film at New Line really loved our music and approached us to be in it.

"[Director] Nanette Burstein also came to our show in New York and we met her the next day and it went from there. They sent over the script and it was hilarious. It was one of those things we'd have been mad to turn down and I've struck up a great friendship since with Dave Neustadter, one of the producers, whose relationship the film was based on."

He added: "Filming was pretty easy for us on the whole and we saw a cut of the film when we were at South By South West in March. It's pretty hilarious and certainly not your average comedy."
