US box office meets its 'Doom'

Video game adaptation Doom obliterated the competition at the US box office last weekend, entering the chart at number one.
Taking $15.4m, the action picture was followed by Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story, which entered in second place with earnings of $9.3m. Former number one, Wallace and Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, slipped to third.
The week's other new entry, North Country, debuted in fifth place.
