Fox 2000 have acquired the services of Jean-Pierre Jeunet for their adaptation of Yann Martel's novel 'Life of Pi', according to Variety.
The Man Booker Prize-winning piece chronicles a 16-year-old's voyage from India to Canada. Having embarked on a freighter of zoo animals being transported by the boy's father, the ship later sinks. The only human survivor, he shares a lifeboat with a hyena, an injured zebra and a ravenous tiger.
Jeunet (Alien Resurrection) has begun work on the script with Guillaume Laurant, with whom he worked on Amelie and A Very Long Engagement.
