Michael Caine has signed up to appear in The Children of Men and The Prestige, according to Variety.
The Children of Men stars Clive Owen, Julianne Moore and Chiwetel Ejiofor and tells the story of a time when humans have lost the ability to procreate. When the youngest person on Earth (an 18-year-old) dies, Owen must protect the last remaining pregnant female from harm. Based on a P.D. James novel, Alfonso Cuaron will direct from a screenplay written by himself and Tim Sexton.
Meanwhile, The Prestige will see Caine reteam with Batman Begins director Chirstopher Nolan in a tale of two battling magicians played by Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. Scripted by Jonathan Nolan from a Christopher Priest novel, the film will see Caine in the role of a retired magician who teaches Jackman's character a trick or two.
