Pi director Darren Aronofsky is in talks to direct former emergency medical technician Shannon Burke's upcoming novel 'Black Flies' for Paramount Pictures.
The novel tells the story of a young man who becomes an EMT in Harlem, where Burke herself worked, before he embarks on his journey through medical school. However, his post turns out to be filled with crises and misfortune.
Lorenzo Di Bonaventura will produce along with Eric Watson. The studio is searching for a scriptwriter to adapt the novel under Aronofsky's guidance, Variety reports.
