Konami vampire-slaying video game franchise Castlevania is set to be brought to the big screen, according to Variety.
Crystal Sky Pictures have bought the rights to the games and have acquired the services of director Paul W.S Anderson, who has previously been responsible for adaptations of Alien vs. Predator and Resident Evil, to helm the transition.
Like the games, the film will follow the origins of Dracula and the exploits of the Belmont Clan, a renowned vampire-slaying family who are seen as the last hope for humanity.
Anderson will produce along with Crystal Sky president Benedict Carver and Jeremy Bolt. Production will begin in mid-2006.
