The 27-year-old Australian actress, who left her role as Cassie Turner in Home and Away to pursue a Hollywood movie career, said that she was very happy when she landed a role in new dance film Step Up 3D.
Vinson told OK magazine: "I'm very excited. All I've heard is positive, positive, positive, and if there were any negatives it'd be in one ear and out the other."
Talking about when she first arrived in LA, she said: "It wasn't struggle street at all, because I flew in to LA in December 2007 and within three days I was sent to Thailand to shoot a commercial. That was amazing."
Vinson revealed that her reaction to landing the lead role in her first movie was "screaming, crying, shaking, goosebumps - and then we went out and had a big drink that night". She added: "It was like someone telling you you'd won the lottery."
Vinson also revealed that she regularly sees fellow ex-Home and Away stars Chris Hemsworth and Isabel Lucas in LA.
