Tom Sturridge cast in 'On The Road'

Tom Sturridge has reportedly joined the forthcoming movie adaptation of Jack Kerouac's On The Road.

According to Gossip Cop, Strurridge joins Sam Riley, Kristen Stewart, Garret Hedlund and Kirsten Dunst in the project.

"He is filming in Canada at the moment for On The Road," said a representative for the actor.

Details about Sturridge's role have not been reported.

Walter Salles is directing the movie from a script by Motorcycle Diaries screenwriter Jose Rivera.

On The Road opens in 2011.

Sturridge previously appeared in Pirate Radio, Being Julia and Vanity Fair.
