Dustin Hoffman and Jackie Chan have joined CGI project Kung Fu Panda starring Jack Black.
Ian McShane is also boarding the venture, with Lucy Liu currently in talks to join the film, which is slated for a May 2008 release, Variety reports.
Directed by John Stevenson and Mark Osborne, Kung Fu Panda will feature Black as the voice of unlikely hero Po the Panda. When the Valley of Peace is threatened, Po inadvertently wanders into a martial arts competition where it is found that he bears the mark of the Chosen One, despite being the laziest creature in the valley.
Hoffman, Chan and Liu will play Po's teachers - Shifu, Master Monkey and Master Viper respectively. Meanwhile, McShane will play villainous snow leopard Tai Lung, bent on destroying the Valley of Peace.
