Green Day are to make a movie of ‘American Idiot’– but they will not appear in it themselves.
The band will be heavily involved in writing and producing the film, however.
Front-man Billy Joe Armstrong said: "I'm going to be involved in some of the writing and production for the movie, which will be like a mix of The Who's albums and films, Tommy and Quadrophenia.???
He added: "You won't see us appearing in starring roles because we're not actors. We will leave that to the professionals."
