Scarlett Johansson in negotiations over 'Nanny Diaries'

Scarlett Johansson has entered into negotiations to star as Nan in the forthcoming film adaptation of The Nanny Diaries, an aptly named novel about a college student who nannies for the 'family from hell'.
Johansson's character has to juggle her classes, romance, the spoiled family child and the parents' marital woes. The book was written by former nannies Nicola Kraus and Emma McLaughlin.
Directors Robert Pulcini and Shari Springer Berman, who directed 2003's American Splendour, are in talks to direct, with the Weinstein Co. project apparently pursuing a February Toronto and New York start.
Upcoming projects for Johansson also include December's Match Point release, as well as thriller The Black Dahlia.
