Steven Spielberg has given fans a heads-up about the progress on the next instalments of the Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones franchises.

Website Development Hell report that Spielberg's Q&A session at the University of Southern California yielded details of one sequence of Jurassic IV. The director explained that, as with the other film in the series, he will have to "cherry-pick" his favourite scenes from the book for inclusion in the film, one being a sequence in which a group of motorcyclists must outrun a pack of Velociraptors.

Spielberg gave little away about the next Indiana Jones movie other than that George Lucas is currently at work on the screenplay and that Harrison Ford will reprise his role as the whip-wielding archaeologist.

The director also explained that talk of his developing a film emersion technology was nothing more than rumour, opining that there must be a barrier between the film and its audience.
