Warren Ellis updates 'Gravel' status

Warren Ellis has revealed the progress on the film version of his Gravel comic.

The Planetary writer is working on the script for the movie based on his Avatar Press title, which was announced in October last year.

"I'm halfway through [Gravel] right now," Ellis told MTV News.

"I'm actually writing a new William Gravel story. It's a horror-action thing in the whole combat magician mode of those books."

Ellis is also serving as executive producer on the film for Legendary Pictures, the studio that produced Superman Returns.

William Gravel is Britain's only combat magician and star of the Strange Killings miniseries and the ongoing Gravel title.
