Nicki Minaj auditioned for 'Lottery Ticket'

The rapper-turned-actor, who stars in the new comedy, has said that he pulled some strings to get the Young Money star an audition, a role that eventually ended up going to actress Teairra Marí.
The 23-year-old told Vibe: "Nicki Minaj was close to being Nikki in the movie and I tried to do that. I spoke to director Eric White when we were in casting and said we should get Nicki to come in and audition for the part.
"Then, I called Nicki and told her, 'I’d think you be dope for the role'. I thought Nicki did a good job, but unfortunately it didn’t work out."
Lottery Ticket is currently playing in US cinemas.
